Job Summary
Join our vibrant library team as a Part Time Bookkeeper, where your expertise in financial management will keep our library operations running smoothly. Duties
- Maintain and update the library’s financial records using QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of all financial data.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare journal entries, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and revenue streams to help optimize financial planning.
- Generate detailed financial reports and summaries to support management decision-making and transparency efforts.
Skills
- Strong proficiency or training in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar systems.
- Deep understanding of corporate, non-profit, and governmental accounting principles including GAAP.
- Expertise in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and account analysis.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance for non-profit or public organizations.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
