1.Assistant Bookmobile Driver/Clerk-Requires CDL Class C with Air Brake Certification
Full Time: 40 hours a week; M-F 9-5
- $17 per hour

Position Summary:
This positon functions as a secondary bookmobile driver M-Th and the primary driver on Fridays or days when our primary driver is out. Candidate will also check books in and out to patrons, provide reader’s advisory services, help people of all ages find library materials, lead story times/craft activities, and work inside the library when the bookmobile is idle.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to)
Drive the bookmobile to and from stops on Fridays and days when primary driver is out.
- Perform daily maintenance checks and cleaning tasks for the bookmobile.
- Utilize customer service skills while greeting and assisting library users.
- Lead story times and craft activities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Good driving skills with knowledge of Belvidere and Boone County roads.
- Extensive customer service skills.
- Ability to learn new technology and software.
- Ability to work with patrons of all ages, including children.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must have current Illinois Class C CDL license w/air brake endorsement; offer of employment cannot be made without it.
- Must be 18 + with the ability to pass an MVR license check by our insurer. This is a requirement to employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand, kneel, reach, and walk. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move equipment, etc., up to twenty five (25) pounds. Specific vision and hearing abilities are required by this job. Prolonged bus riding and jostling, frequent exposure to cold and hot environments, loud engine noise.
2.Part-Time Bookkeeper
25 hours/week
Starting Pay: $17 per hour
Paid Sick Time; Paid Vacation Time; IMRF Participation
Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to record all day-to-day financial transactions for the Library. The Bookkeeper is responsible for a variety of administrative, bookkeeping, and secretarial duties including financial record keeping, banking, bill processing, ordering of materials and supplies, and overseeing building maintenance. Our ideal candidate has previous bookkeeping experience and/or college course work in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management, and is familiar with Quickbooks Online. This is a fixed schedule, 5 hours per day M-F, no weekends.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to)
- Perform all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor and customer records using QuickBooks Online. Files and maintains invoices and other records. Assists accountants in reconciling bank statements and monthly check details.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, and filing business records in the administrative office.
- Oversees cash handling and cash register procedures. Maintains and reconciles petty cash. Prepares, processes, and makes bank deposits.
- Records and acknowledges donations.
- Assists with bi-weekly payroll.
- Compiles reports as needed and prepares documents for annual audit. Assists Director with annual budget preparation and financial reports as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Working knowledge of Windows operating system.
- Expert knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to learn new technology and software.
- Knowledge of business arithmetic, bookkeeping, and filing.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to organize work and maintain good working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or two years of college coursework in Accounting or Business Management preferred.
- At least two years of related experience or business school training with emphasis in accounting and/or payroll and experience with Quickbooks.
- 3 Professional References Required.
