All Ages Programming
Chess Knights
First Wednesday of the Month at 6:00PM
Ida Public Library Meeting Room on the Lower Level
Ages: Middle School – Adult
Do you find yourself dreaming of chess Knight and Day? Are you the second coming of Bobby Fisher? Bored of playing against the computer? Then drop in to Chess Knights, a fun, social meet up to sharpen your skills. We will have a limited number of chess boards to use, but feel free to bring a favorite board and pieces. Open middle school to adults. Registration is recommended.
Cinco de Mayo Loteria
Ven jugar a la Lotería con nuestra versión, un conocido juego de cartas tradicional Mexicano, se parece al bingo en cierto modo. Es un juego de ritmo rápido: el locutor saca rápidamente una tarjeta y grita el nombre de una imagen. Si crees que ganaste, grita “¡Lotería!” Este juego va a ser en Español y se requiere registrarse
Youth Programming
Builder’s Club
- 2nd Wednesday of the Monh

Join Ida’s Builder’s Club where you can show off your creativity by building with LEGOs! We will have different challenges, themes, and contests along the way in this once-a-month Builders Club!
Each child must be registered separately.
Club Next-Spring 2026
4th Tuesday of the Month at 3:30PM
Join us for Club Next! Each month will be a different theme where we will have games, crafting materials, Chromebooks, Nintendo Switch Games, and activities for you to do while you hang out at the library. This program is designated for youth (2nd-5th grade). Registration Required.
Monthly Themes:

Create and Chill Take Home Kits
Teens (Ages 14-16)
Attention all teens! We have a crafty kit just for you! Each kit includes all the materials and easy-to-follow instructions needed for a unique DIY craft project. Registration Required.
April – Decorate a Keychain
May – Pipe Cleaner Daisies
Kits are available for pick up at the lower level circulation desk around the 15th of the month and must be picked up before the last day of the month.
Registration Required. One registration form per person.
Story Sprouts
Wednesdays at 10:30AM
Due to our Friends’ Spring Book Sale, we will not have Storytime on the following dates:
Wednesday April 8th, Wednesday April 15th, Wednesday April 22nd
Ida Public Library Meeting Room on the Lower Level
Join us on Wednesday mornings, on the lower level, in the meeting room for Story Sprouts! This weekly program is perfect for your preschool-age (3-5 years old) reader to engage in stories, activities, and crafts!
Each child needs to be registered separately.
Tiny Tales/Open Play
Thursdays at 10:30AM
Ida Public Library Meeting Room on the Lower Level
Tiny Tales is for Ida’s tiniest readers to socialize and engage in early literacy! Tiny Tales Story Time is designed for babies from newborn to 2 years and their caregiver(s)! This story time happens on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.
Bring your little one to Open Play with us! On the first, third, and, occasionally, the fifth Thursday of the month at 10:30am to socialize, play, and learn!
Each child needs to be registered separately.
Due to an event and the Friends Spring Book Sale, we will not have Tiny Tales or Open Play on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 19, 2026 (No Open Play)
- Thursday, April 9, 2026 (No Tiny Tales)
- Thursday, April 16, 2026 (No Open Play)
Youth Take and Make Kits
Pick up a Take & Make Kit, filled with instructions and supplies you’ll need to make some fun crafts in the comfort of your own home!
Spring Themes:
- May: Mother’s Day
Kits are available to pick up on the first of the month and must be picked up before the 15th of the month on the lower level of the library.
Registration is required.
Please fill out a separate registration form for each child!
Young Adult Programming (Ages 17-21)
Young Adult Take Home Kits
We know how busy you are so this spring we will be featuring take-home craft kits to encourage your creativity and lessen your stress levels. A different kit will be offered the second week of each month. You just register, pick up the kit, and have fun crafting. Kits can be picked up at the upper level circulation desk. Registration required.
May 11-15: Beaded Bracelets
This program is for Young Adults, Ages 17-21.
Young Adult Terrariums
Come create a terrarium and watch your ecosystem change over time! We will provide all of the materials to build your terrarium and you can provide your creativity to customize your own environment here at the library! We will begin on May 7 at 6pm. Registration required.

Adult Programming
Bring Your Own Book Club
Last Monday of the month – 3 pm (Except May due to a holiday) May will take place on May 18th
Chair Yoga for Adults
Tuesdays at 10AM AND/OR Thursdays at 3PM
*Thursday Sessions will start on March 12th
Ida Public Library Meeting Room on the Lower Level
Join us for chair yoga and gentle chair exercise! This workout session is perfect for individuals of all different ages, stages, and physical ability. The stretching and breathing in these yoga-inspired moves will help increase flexibility, mobility, and calming of the mind.
Each adult participating must register separately.

Craft from the comfort of your own home with one of our Adult Take Home Crafts. Crafting is a great way to relieve stress and feel accomplished after a long day. Sign up and give it a try!

- 4th Monday of the Month – 10:30am (Except May – May will take place on May 18th)

Do you love a good mystery? Each month we will meet to give our thoughts and choose next month’s read. Books will be available to check out at the upper level circulation desk.
Photo Scanning Workshop
Are you worried about that old box of photos in your basement? Stop putting it off and come to our Photo Scanning Workshop on Monday, May 11th, at 6pm, where our Local History Specialist will be available to scan your photos for you. We will have flash drives available for you to take your digital files home. Photos can be saved as JPEGs or PDFs. There is a limit of 50 photographs per patron.

String Thing
Last Wednesday of the month at 6:00PM

It’s a STRING THING hangout! Attention all string addicts-bring your latest string projects and hang out with other string addicts once a month while you work on your projects and chat. Knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, or whatever your string thing is, you are sure to find like-minded stringers to socialize with.
Science Fiction/Fantasy Book Club
Escape into another world with us on the last Monday of every month (most of the time) at 6:30pm, as we discuss a different Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel. Whether or not that world is any better than our own is for you to decide. Books will be available to check out at the upper level circulation desk.
Please be aware that our March meeting will be held on the 23rd and our May meeting will be held on the 18th. Our meeting time will still be 6:30pm.
