1.Part-Time Bookkeeper

  • 15 to 19 hours/week
  • Starting Pay: $17 per hour
  • 25 hours annual paid time off
  • Paid holidays after 90 days 

Position Summary: 

We are looking for a skilled bookkeeper to record all day-to-day financial transactions for the Library. The bookkeeper is responsible for a variety of library bookkeeping/administrative duties including financial record keeping, banking, bill processing, financial reports and requirements including GASB.  Flexible day hours during the week with no weekends or nights. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):

  • Performs all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor and customer records using QuickBooks Online.
  • Files and maintains invoices and other records.
  • Assists in reconciling bank statements and monthly check details.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and filing business records.
  • Processes cash receipts and bank deposits as needed.
  • Records and acknowledges donations.
  • Assists with bi-weekly payroll.
  • Compiles reports as needed including monthly expenditure report.
  • Prepares documents for annual audit.
  • Assists Director with annual budget preparation and financial reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system.
  • Expert knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software.
  • Knowledge of business arithmetic, bookkeeping, and filing.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and requirements.
  • Ability to organize work and maintain good working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

 Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or two years of college coursework in Accounting or Business Management preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience or business school training with emphasis in accounting and/or payroll and experience with Quickbooks.
  • Library accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
  • 3 Professional References Required. 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Extensive hours of computer use
  • Light to moderately heavy lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
  • Office environment with office lighting.
